Quick Pick Foods, Can Still Be Budget Basics

I am sure that everyone has had these experiences. You work a bit late at work and head home just dragging from tiredness. Walking through the door instead of just being able to put your feet up, there are three hungry children; one needs help with homework and the other two need to be driven to activities (to be picked up later of course).

At these times, don't be worried about using convenience foods such as frozen prepared meals. We don't mean the take out types and are as expensive as restaurant fare. These convenience foods might be a bit more expensive, but are certainly better than eating out or take out.

Try to keep your freezer stocked with some of these handy food items. While they are heating in the oven, you can help them with their homework, have a nice cup of tea or get busy with other things.

Once you become more organized, you can stock your freezer
with your own homemade dinners, but the for time being you can go with the store bought.
There are many excellent choices.

The next time you have a good day to work in the house, plan on spending time in the kitchen. When you cook; cook once; cook big. Put foods away for the week day meals. It takes a bit more planning in the beginning, but well worth the effort in the end. Even the kids can take something out of the freezer and put it in the oven.

Tip of the Day: As soon as the meal is finished, tidy up,
clean the dishes and sweep the floor. This makes it easy

to handle the next meal preparation.
